Famous Food

Back to Introduction Back to Barcelona Back to Madrid

Paella

One of Spain's most well-known and well-loved culinary delights is Paella. Paella is a traditional rice-based dish as it is made with rice, saffron, vegetables, chicken, and seafood cooked and served in one pan. Paella was originated in Valencia however; it is recognized as the national food of Spain. The most common types of Paella are chicken Paella, seafood Paella or mixed Paella (combination of seafood, meats and vegetables). The reason why I am adding this to my poster and brochure is because this dish is a symbol of the value of family in the Spanish culture whereby families meet around the table to eat this tasty dish that is oaen cooked on an open fire using a shallow traditional pen.

Churros

Churros

When it comes to indulging in delicious treats, nothing can match Churros. These pastries originated from Spain and became a staple in Spanish cuisine. It is often served with a rich thick chocolate sauce for dipping. They are typically dipped in sugar and cinnamon, and they may be cut thinner or thicker. The reason why I included this pastry in my brochure and poster is because Spain is considered the birthplace of Churros, and no one can visit Spain and leave without trying this delicious treat.

Calamari Sandwich

Bocadillos de Calamares is a tradition in Madrid, and it is something that everybody should definitely try. It is made of a freshly baked roll and stuffed with thick juicy rings of fried squid. The best place to try these sandwiches is at one of the bars around Plaza Mayor in Madrid. The reason why I included this food as a must-try in my poster and brochure is because visiting Madrid and not trying the Bocadillos de Calamares would be like going to New York and not trying a bagel.
